December's leadership questions

  • How many men do you lead who know how to be gentle?

  • What acts of aggression against women (subtle or direct) have you noticed this week?

Hilary Cotton works with women who make a difference.

  • She offers one-to-one coaching, training in key leadership skills and facilitation of meetings to get the best possible results.
  • She gives people and teams a good listening space, allowing plenty of time to lay out all the tangled strands of difficult issues.
  • She asks really challenging questions, to help you think things through for yourself.
  • At the end of a session you will have worked out what you need to do next, often in small steps, to make a significant difference where you are.

'Not there yet....'

The gender pay gap: women earn 17% less than men: in effect they stop being paid on 30th October each year (Fawcett Society)
Women in public life: barely 20% of MPs are women, only 10% of Directors of FTSE 100 companies are women (EHRC)

  • The world of work is still geared to having a 'wife' at home.
  • Caring is still women's work and is therefore grossly underpaid.
  • We talk about 'working mothers' and not 'working fathers'.

                    So we're not there yet.

We need more women leading and influencing: are you one of them?
